Pancreatic diseases represent a crucial issue not only for their epidemiological relevance, for the anatomical and metabolic complexity, but also for the different treatment options and for their surgical implications. Due to the slow but steady increase in their incidence, pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer are today a real challenge for the surgeon. Scope of this volume is therefore to outline the state of the art of surgery in inflammatory and neoplastic pancreatic diseases, describing in details the different approaches and their most relevant technical aspects. However, also conventional and interventional radiology, operative endoscopy and ecoendoscopy (recently entered in the diagnostic path), adjuvant and neoadjuvant therapy aimed to treatment or to palliative cares are described: only a multidisciplinary approach can in fact grant a global vision, winning strategy for the optimization of results. Along with expert texts, the volume includes several colour images and drawings, and represents a very useful tool in clinical practice.
