"Maria Lassnig taught the master class for experimental design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna from 1980 to 1989. ""With Their Own Eyes"" offers an insight into the current work of her former students and shows the diversity and individuality of their positions, which have developed from varying biographical and artistic positions. Some very forceful personalities meet here. With its engaging and multi-facetted approach, this book shows how the discourse between the artists is not limited to the medium of painting. This discourse also takes place with animated films, sculptures, games inside and outside installations, all of which are used to effectively produce a relational aesthetic. This broad spectrum of artistic creations is presented with numerous color illustrations. An essay by Ursula Maria Probst, a conversation between Dieter Ronte and Maria Lassnig and in-depth biographies of the artists complete the volume."
