Flexible Electronics covers a range of materials used for flexible electronics, including semiconductors, dielectrics, and metals. The functional integration of these different materials is treated as well. Fundamental issues for both organic and inorganic materials systems are included. A corresponding overview of technological applications, based on each materials system, is presented to give both the non-specialist and the researcher in the field relevant information on the status of the flexible electronics area. The most notable novel aspect of this book is the explicit link that is made between the fundamental scientific aspects relevant to the materials for flexible electronics and the corresponding technological applications. The book will give a broad overview of the materials aspects from low-cost, low-performance devices to high-performance applications. Specific materials systems and properties are presented for various applications with respect to processing complexity, device performance, and format. Each system will have a review of materials properties, characterization, device processing and device performance. A pertinent technological application for a given system will then be reviewed, by a researcher involved directly in industrial research or manufacturing.
