This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the First International Workshop on Cooperative Buildings, CoBuild'98, held in Darmstadt, Germany, in February 1998.This volume is the first to systematically report the state of the art in the emerging interdisciplinary area of information technology, organizational innovation, and architecture. The 22 revised full papers presented are organized in sections on integrating information and architecture, learning from experience, virtual environments and software technologies, evolutionary design of buildings, vision and legislation, managing space, and blending work and domestic environments.
