This booklet traces through projects of different scales and situations the progression of an architectural programme from the first skin through into the second skin grouped into four clusters: cave, ground, horizon and wind, and accompanied by a tractatus text linking projects with programmatic and poetic concepts. CHORA research was founded in 1994 by Raoul Bunschoten, and more recently joined by CHORA architecture and urbanism and CHORA NL. The projects undertaken by these three organisations range from intuitive research in matter, primarily cement in its various forms, to commissioned dynamic masterplans for Homerton, East London, and the research into operational metaspaces for urban planning and decisionmaking, including non-linear navigational techniques and open source principles to stimulate co-evolution between new prototypes in large territories. The concepts used for these metaspaces are Urban Gallery and Urban Curation.
